Wohlmuth Ried Hochsteinriegl Sauvignon Blanc 2023

From a steep (78% grade), south-facing grand cru, Wohlmuth's 2023 Ried Hochsteinriegl GSTK Sauvignon Blanc intermingles ripe and juicy peach and nectarine aromas with flinty and saline notes of crushed slate and quartz rocks. Full-bodied, intense and savory on the palate, with a long, saline and structured finish but also elegant, persistent and singing fruit, this is an impressive Styrian Sauvignon from sunny but coolish altitudes between 465 and 500 meters above sea level. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Berghausen in April 2025. Release date: September 2025.
