The hard apple cider industry is extremely old and in many parts of the world, is as old and as popular as wine or beer. In the regions of Normandy and Brittany in France, ciders are often produced in Champagne style bottles. In the English countryside, we see more ciders in beer style bottles as they are often beer substitutes in their pubs. In the Basque region of Spain, cider often comes in a clear or pale green bottle that is again in the shape of a wine bottle. And don’t forget ‘Perry’, which is cider made from pears.
