Gorman Old Scratch Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Chris Gorman is known for his full throttle, big scoring wines both red and white and in the last couple of years he has made some big noise for his entry level, "Devil" blends, "The Devil You Know" and "The Devil You Don't Know". Now, however, he has come out with a pure Red Mountain Cabernet in the series that pretty much sets a new standard for Washington Cabernet at this price point. "Old Scratch" is a blend of Kiona, Shaw and Klipsun from the fabulous 2013 vintage. Rich and inky in color, it has gobs of cassis, blackberry pie, blueberry jam, toast and coffee, with firm tannins and enough acid to balance it all out.
