When Syrah was discovered to grow well in Washington's Columbia Valley, it was only natural for vineyards to explore the other Rhone varieties as well. Viognier flourished and there are sites scattered from Walla Walla to Yakima that are now growing it. Look for ripe and tropical wines that have a bit more structure than Riesling but fruit profiles that can sometimes be similar.
