Syrah
The first varietal bottling of Washington State Syrah was made in 1988 and since that time, production and plantings have expanded exponentially. Found in various spots around the Columbia Valley, some of the more famous sites for this Rhone grape are the 'Rocks' region of Walla Walla, the Wahluke Slope near the Columbia River at Mattawa, Red Mountain and the Yakima Valley hills near Zillah.
