Washington State Wine
Grapes have flourished in the Columbia Valley since the 1960’s and earlier, but the explosion of the Evergreen State’s stunning wines from just a handful of producers was spearheaded by the first Leonetti release from Walla Walla, the 1978 vintage. Now with over 800 wineries stretching from the shores of Puget Sound to the Yakima Valley and Blue Mountains, there is a delicious bottle for every taste produced here. Whether it be a robust Red Mountain Merlot, a crisp Lake Chelan Chardonnay or a Robert Parker 100 point Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington State has luscious examples for everyday drinking, laying down in the cellar or for boosting that rare wine collection.
