The classic wine growing areas of South Africa are just outside of Capetown. In Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, not much Pinot Noir is to be found. However, in the cooler spots to the south and east, near the coast at Hermanus, very Burgundian wines of world renound are produced.
