South Africa Wine

Often thought of as a ‘new world’ wine region, South Africa is actually one of the oldest. Chenin Blanc has been documented as being grown in the Stellenbosch and Paarl area for longer than Cabernet has been documented in Bordeaux. While famous for Pinotage and dessert wines, the Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays from the area near the Cape of Good Hope and the wild yeast fermented Rhone varieties from the Swartland are rapidly acquired fame world wide. A remarkably diverse wine region that serious oenophiles are seeking out for their cellars, South Africa also provides some incredible values in just about every category.
