This vintage has a classic rocks nose of fire pit, tarry herbs, tobacco, brown stems, black olive, potpourri, crushed rock, and orange peel. Sappy, black fruits coat the palate giving an impression of density and power. Well-shaped and polished tannins cast a platform for black plum, candied orange, sage, and licorice flavors to persist throughout. Stunning now, this wine should gain momentum in the near future and drink well into 2028.
