Crafted with fruit from the famed Stillwater Creek Vineyard on the Royal Slope, it has all the rich and chocolate laden exuberance which one expects from Washington Merlot, with the complexity Sean brings to his wines, which tend to come across more like left bank Bordeaux. Baking spice, Montmorancy cherries, red and black raspberries and a whiff of cedar in the finish. This is really serious Merlot, which demonstrates why this may be the top place on earth for the varietal.
