Sake is no longer only coming to us from Japan, it is now a growing industry in other parts of the world and most notably for us, in Oregon. The styles are in many ways not as traditional as those that come to us from Japan, but are equally compelling. Fruit is often added to Oregon Sakes. Melon, Asian Pear, Coconut but don’t be afraid to look for more traditional bottlings as well. Often, there are great values to be had from Oregon.
