In these terms and conditions, the "Company" will mean COMPASS WINES LLC and the "Customer" will mean any person, which places an order with the Company. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our website. By using the website, you agree that you have read these terms and conditions and that you accept and agree to them.
It is illegal to sell alcohol to persons under the age of 21. By placing an order, the Customer confirms that he/she is at least 21 years old. The Customer shall ensure that no person shall use his/her account to purchase alcohol and that a person aged 21 or above (identification required) will be present to take delivery by UPS or other carrier. Delivery will be attempted additional times by UPS or other carrier before being sent back to the Company.
The Company shall make every effort to ensure that prices, details and sizes of products on this website are accurate and up to date. Prices are subject to change without prior notice and all orders are subject to Company's acceptance at its sole discretion.
The Company shall make every effort to ensure products displayed on this website are in stock. If from time to time products become out of stock, the Company will attempt to either obtain additional product, or provide status of order to the Customer so that they can determine if they wish to cancel said order or wait for additional product to arrive.
All orders are subject to confirmation of final availability and Company reserves the right to reject the order in the event that any of the products or services requested are unavailable. In the event that we are unable to fulfill any of the products or services in your order we will notify you by phone or email before your requested delivery date.
We offer a 10% discount for any 12 bottles and a 15% discount for any 60 bottles of wine at standard retail price. No further discount applies to sale priced wines.
Registration / account setup
You are required to setup an account before placing any order through compasswines.com website. While setting up an account:
1) You must provide us with complete, accurate and current information.
2) Please retain your username and password for future use.
3) You authorize us to assume that any person using the site with your username and password is either you or is authorized to act for you.
4) The Company has the absolute discretion to refuse registration of a potential customer and to terminate the registration of any customer for any reason it sees fit.
5) You must inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided so that we can communicate with you effectively; particularly when changes affect shipping destination addresses.
Breakage / Accuracy
The Customer must examine the wine immediately upon delivery for any accuracy and/or damages. Claims (if any) must be made to our store (360)293-6500 or via email at the time of delivery.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to check the condition of wines received including glassware and accessories, at the time of delivery.
Refund is available when valid original receipt is provided and refund guarantee will only be applicable on wine or champagne that is less than 10 years old. Refunds will NOT be given for wines that are ‘not liked’. Refunds will only be given if the wine or champagne is flawed. In order to determine if the wine is flawed, it is important for Customer to recork and return flawed wine for Compass Wines to review. Please contact us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org
Refund will be credited into Customer's credit card account within 7 days of a resolution of the flawed wines.
In the event that you would like try and make a return, please call us at 360-293-6500 or email us, email@example.com within 7 days from the date of delivery.
Compass Wines Gift Certificates are redeemable on our website. If you experience any difficulties using them, please contact us at 360-293-6500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
All risks in the products shall pass to the Customer upon delivery the Company shall retain ownership of the products until full payment has been received. Once we deliver the product to a common carrier and the product has been paid in full, any and all risk shall pass to the Customer.
The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure in its performance caused by or resulting from acts of God, fire, flood, accident, riot, war, government intervention, embargoes, strikes, labor difficulties, equipment failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Company.
We only accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal on our website. Additionally Customers may use Authorized Compass Wines gift cards with a credit balance. If sufficient funds are not avaialable on the gift card, remaining balance can be made with one of the listed payment types.
All product prices listed are in $USD.
To provide a secure online commerce transactions, we employ Internet's Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. It encrypts your personal information, including credit card number, name and address.. To check SSL Certificate information, you can right click the mouse and choose "Properties" & "Certificates".
Compass Wines LLC reserves the right to limit sales including the right to decline sales to any customers.
Shipping / Delivery
Compass Wines offers shipping and delivery services across the United States (International services available upon request). Free local delivery is available to local Marinas for orders over the $400 minimum. Due to recent interstate shipping regulation and compliance issues, we ship our wine with a consolidator who handles the regulatory aspects of shipping wine across state lines. All wine being shipped will be packed pulp wine shippers. We are able to ship quantities of any amount, and can pack up to 12 bottles in a single case (Magnums and odd sizes excluded). All orders must be signed by adults of the age 21 or older. We reserve the right to withhold shipments, due to weather related issues or any condition that can cause damage to products being shipped. In most cases this means that wine shipped via UPS ground will not ship of extreme weather conditions exist at the destination or in the transit path. Extreme heat or cold will damage the wines.
*All orders shipped in the state of Washington will be subject to the sales tax at the shipment destination.
*All orders shipped or picked up in store Anacortes are subject to 8.75% sales tax.
Note: All packages shipped by Compass Wines are done so at the request of the consumer. Shipments will be delivered to the address provided by the buyer. Compass Wines does not condone any false information given for the delivery of direct shipment. By placing an order you the consumer authorize Compass Wines to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your wine to you. The purchaser represents that he/she/they is acting in a fashion compliant with his, her or their local and state law regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. Compass Wines entrusts all consumers to provide address information that will in no way or form be of any risk or cause for any legal action upon our establishment by any authority. You the consumer are solely responsible for taking possession of all wines that you purchase from Compass Wines.
We offer FREE pickup on all orders from our store located at: 1405 Commercial Avenue | Anacortes WA, 98221 | 360-293-6500 During our normal business hours.
We offer regular outbound shipping via our shipping consolidator. Depending on your location, it may take up to 4 weeks for your wine to arrive. We may elect to hold your package as to attempt to ensure it remains in transit and does not potentially site in an environment unsuitable for wine (ie unrefredgerated truck or warehouse) over a weekend. Please contact us for further details on your specific location and potential problems during hot or cold weather.
We reserve the right to charge an additional shipping fee if the recipient is not available to accept delivery after UPS or other common carrier has made attempts to deliver your package. This fee is often the same amount as the outbound shipping fees charged to us by the carrier.
It is the Customer’s responsibility of the to notify Compass Wines LLC immediately of any change to their delivery address.
We reserve the right to decline delivery of goods to any customer at our sole discretion absolutely.
Non-pickup / non-delivery
The Company has the right to return purchase to customer after 120 days for non-pick up / non-delivery.
The Company has the right to charge storages fees for storing the wine in the event that:
1) Customer fails to pick up the wine within 60 days of purchase.
2) Wine is non-deliverable within two weeks of purchase due to customer's failure to notify the Company of change of address or the Company is otherwise unable to contact customer.
3) Customer refuses to take delivery of the wine they have purchased.
In the event that the wine has not been collected / delivered and the storage fees referred to above have not been paid for 1 year from notification by the Company that the wine is ready, then the Company has the right to dispose of the wine with no further notice to the Customer. The Company shall have no liability to the customer in respect of disposal of the wine in such circumstances.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington and the Customer and Compass Wines LLC agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of Washington State Courts. Compass Wines LLC may revises these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. If any dispute arises, Compass Wines LLC determination shall be final.
